Position Goal: Assist Physician(s) in Main Clinic and Satellite Clinics. Supervise assigned clerical staff.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Training/orientation of new medical assistant employees and students
  • Provide physician staff coverage as needed
  • Develop and conduct monthly clinical educational training to clinical staff
  • Responsible for ensuring that all physician clinics are sufficiently staffed
  • Design medical assistant work schedules, hours, and duty assignments.
  • Assesses staffing patterns and recommends changes
  • Understand the needs of the physician for a productive clinic
  • Direct and supervise clinical personnel in accordance with clinic, governmental, and other regulatory standards
  • Participate in development of departmental goals and objectives
  • Review and approve payroll and time records
  • Oversee nursing care essential to the assessment, promotion, maintenance and restoration of patient’s health and wellness
  • Maintain patient and staff confidentiality
  • Assist with annual evaluations and employee assessments
  • Assists in the selection, training/orientation, and performance appraisal of department personnel
  • Meet with Physician Staff Coordinator/Practice Administrator to review operational issues and discuss strategic plans. 
  • Recommend departmental policies and procedures. Update and maintain nursing procedures with in-services or other forms of continuing education
  • Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations to include attending conferences and workshops
  • Maintain patient confidentiality
  • Responsible for implementation of OSHA regulations

  •  
Experience: Two (2) years of orthopaedic clinical experience required.
Education: High School or equivalent required. CMA required. Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing preferred.
Special Qualifications: Must be able to work independently. This position requires irregular hours. Position also requires availability for after- hour calls to manage clinic situations.
